What the Mayans saw on 122112 

On the 21st December 2012 at midnight, Mayan astronomers and astrologers foresaw a unique event.

The traditional aspects, introduced by Johannes Kepler 

in the 16th century, include planets being opposite to each other (relative to the Sun) and also at various aspects to each other (in a circle) such as at right angles (90 degrees) or various other aspects (0, 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, 180 degrees)

What the Mayans saw that is so unique astronomically, and it is amazing that they picked this up with such a high degree of accuracy, is that Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon will all be at 8 degrees position exactly in their constellation (Capricorn, Scorpio, Gemini and Aries respectively) forming perfect relationships with each other (60 degrees from Pluto to Saturn, 150 degrees from Saturn to Jupiter, 60 degrees from Jupiter to the Moon and 90 degrees from the Moon to Pluto). Obviously this means also that Jupiter and Pluto and the Moon and Saturn are also in perfect 150 degree relationships to each other.

What does this mean?

Kepler, a famous astronomer and mathematician (as well as astrologer) was a key figure in the 17th century scientific revolution, best known for his eponymous laws of planetary motion, which form the basis for Isaac Newton's theory of universal gravitation. 

Kepler believed, like the Mayans, in the connection between the physical and the spiritual (documented in his first major work 'Mysterium Cosmographicum'. The Universe itself was an image of the Creative Consciousness. An extraordinary astronomical alignment such as this, would signify the end of one consciousness (the old, overindulgent, let's use and not worry about the consequences for future generations consciousness) and the beginning of the next (the new, nurturing, caring for our future consciousness). So the Mayan Calendar, ends, and a new one begins. 

Generally, both Kepler and the Mayans suggested, a quincunx (150 degree aspect) results in misplaced energy, a necessary readjustment, in this case of the earth's energy (its 'health' energy). However you see this readjustment happening, whether personally or planetary-wide, will become clear on the 21st December 2012 at midnight.
